Rest In Peace My Dear Aunt Barbara

Barbara Gainey Fudella
09/25/1963-05/26/2009

I haven't been blogging much...My Aunt Barbara was diagnosed with Brain Cancer a little over a month ago. She only made it through 1 dose of Radiation and 1 session of Chemo before going home to be with Jesus on May 26th, 2009 at the age of 45. My 13 year old cousin Rachel is now in the custody of my mom, and my my cousin, Joey and his fiancee' are expecting their 2nd child, a little boy, in July.
Her funeral service was short, simple, yet beautiful. It was very peaceful and represented the closure that my family needed to a very cruel disease.
My sister and brother went to visit her before she passed but I couldn't bear to go see her like that. I wanted to remember her being lively and vivacious, always on the go...not laying in some hospital bed, blind, and not knowing who I am.
I remember one night when I called my mom to check on her and to see how my Aunt was doing about 2 weeks before she passed. She wasn't herself but she asked my mom who she was talking too and my mom told her "Becky". She said "Tell my babygirl, Becky, that I love her". I was in Target shopping and crying my eyes out because she knew who I was. It was like she was telling my goodbye in her own way.
I miss her so much but I know that she is in a way better place and though my heart is sad, it is still rejoicing because at this very moment she is sitting at the feet of Jesus!

  1. So sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers, I know that in time, God will ease the pain of losing her.
