Woo Hoo! School Pics are here!

Chloe came home today from school with her school pics! Yay! I am soooo excited!

Last night, we went to Beaufort to go Trick or Treating with local merchants but by the time we got down there, there was no where to park. So we went ahead and went to Chloe's school. We had a great spaghetti dinner, the kids got 2 new books a piece and numerous coloring books. They also got to hear the school librarian read them a story and listen to the fire chief of Beaufort and Port Royal, as well as one of our fine police officers. It was a really nice night! I will take more pics of the kids in their costumes but here is a cute one of Eli for now...

My Tiny Dancer

Here a video of my tiny dancer dancing on observation/parents night at her new dance studio...She dances so beautifully for a 5 year old and it almost makes me cry watching her!
The video itself is too big to download to blogger so here is the link: Tiny Dancer Chloe

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Fall has been a busy season so far for us...Kindergarten, Dance, Pageants, taking the kids to the pumpkin farm and play ground. But it's a season I love...the smells and the colors.
We decorated the outside of the house minimally but neatly. The Dollar Tree is pretty awesome!
We decided what the kids are going to be for all of their festivities coming up...Alice In Wonderland for Chloe, and Thing 1 & 2 from Dr. Suess for the boys. I got Chloe's costume already made and she got to wear it for dance last week. The boys costumes are pretty simple...we got them red jogging pants and red long sleeve shirts. I am going to take felt or white fabric and cut it in a little circle and then write Thing 1 & Thing 2 in the white circle with a fabric marker. Then I will just simply tack the circles on to the front of the red tshirts. We are going to stand their hair on end with hair gel and spray it with blue temporary hair spray. Once all the festivities are over, I can untack those white circles from their shirts and the boys have a new outfit to wear for the fall/winter!!

Now, before anyone starts questioning our faith, let me go ahead and answer some questions. Do we celebrate Halloween? No. We do not believe in Halloween. We look at it as just another day that the kids dress up in play clothes. We do not take them to haunted houses or celebrate anything scary. Chloe and the boys play dress up almost every day of the year. I do not allow them to wear anything vulgar or scary. I do not see any harm to us as Christians in letting them dress up and participate in our towns festivities that is geared towards children. They will also be attending the Harvest Festival at church. The town that we live in, is having a little fall celebration on October 28th. The kids will get to dress up and go to different businesses to get candy and participate in other activities from 4pm-6pm. Then they are showing a movie in the park. We won't be going to that though. We are going to Chloe's school at 6 to participate in their kid's club and spaghetti dinner. On October 29th, we are going to a friend's house for a family dinner. On October 30th, we are participating in some more activities in one of the little towns near us and on the 31st, we are going to our church's Fall Festival.
Busy, busy month!

Chloe will also be going to on her first kindergarten field trip to a plantation and pumpkin farm on the 28th. She is so excited!

Chloe got her 1st report card in on October 21st and she is doing pretty awesome in kindergarten! She recieved all S' (sometimes consistent) & C's (always consistent). The principal even signed her report card "Good Job!"! They also did a series of tests on all of the kindergarteners to let us parents know whether our children were doing on or below level for kindergarten. Chloe tested really well and is on level for kindergarten. She recognizes all of her ABC's upper and lower case. She has learned 10 of the 20 popcorn words she has to know when leaving this grade. She can also count to 100 and can spell her name! She has already read 100 books and has moved up a level in reading. They gave her a medal for reading 100 books!

She also participated in another Pretty In Pink pageant in Savannah, GA. She won photogenic, tied in her division for Pink Wear, won queen for her division, and Overall Best Smile out of the whole pageant. We are realllly proud of her!

Noah is doing really well too...he's growing up so fast. He is getting really tall and he is almost completely potty trained! He wears big boy undies during the day now and only diapers for night. He is working on the nighttime training though and it has been less than a month from when we started! He talks...ALOT! He loves to be read to and realllly loves The Cat In The Hat and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Good Night Moon. Chloe & Noah have both memorized The Very Hungry Catepillar and Good Night Moon so when we read it to them, they say it along with us. Noah is learning his numbers and his ABC's. Noah is very handsome just like his daddy!

Eli is my little monkey! He climbs on EVERYTHING! He is also my little daredevil! His new thing is "Mommy, Hug Hug, Kiss Kiss" which means "I wants hugs and kisses!" He tries to say full sentences now and his words are becoming more clearer every day.
We are hoping that he'll want to potty train soon by watching his big brother! Eli reminds me of my Dad and brother. He looks just like them...blue eyes, dimples, and white blonde hair! He's going to be a big boy but he is very handsome and both boys have mommy & daddy wrapped around their little fingers!

I have started working on making "The CoCo Bean Bowtique" a little more successful also. I now have a facebook page specifically for my little online store The CoCo Bean Bowtique .

Greg and I have also had the joy in becoming Uncle Ga Ga & Aunt Bec Bec to our new niece, McKenley Jane. My sister, Kelly, and brother-in-law, Jesse welcomed MJ in to the world on October 13th! My other sister, Katie, will be welcoming another new niece in to the world on November 10th unless baby Millie Rayne decides to come earlier.
I have also been asked to be the godmother to my best friend, Sheree, and her boyfriend, Mark's, new baby, due in April, and my cousin, Michelle's baby girl, Jossalyn Cora Ann, who is due on December 11th. Lots of babies around here!

The dogs are great as well...They both sleep indoors at night now because 1 of our neighbors threatened to call the sheriff's office on them for barking twice. They were barking at an opossum that was in the tree in his backyard so rather than have to deal with that, we just let them come inside!

Pageants, Pageants, & More Pageants...

We have figured out that South Carolina pageants are much more different that VA pageants...Even the natural ones. In VA, the natural pageants like Sunday style dresses or babydoll dresses, no tans, minimal makeup, no fake hair. Down here, they want high glitz dresses but none of the other stuff. Well, Miss Chloe has a baby doll dress that we have gotten our money's worth out of. I bought it in November 2008 and it is still going strong! She will not be getting a new dress until January!
We have also started taking her to a really known pageant coach to help her bring out her personality on stage...she loves her coach!
Chloe wanted to do the Yemassee Shrimp Festival pageant on September 11th, so we said "Go For It Tootie!"...She didn't do too bad for having never competed on a stage set up the way that it was. She won Photogenic (FINALLY!), and placed 3rd runner up in beauty...not too shabby for a group of 10 girls. Her favorite part of the day was playing with her friend Chyna. Chyna was her "1st pageant friend" that she met in SC.
On October 2nd, she competed in Beaufort, SC at the Pretty In Pink pageant. She had a cold and was having nosebleeds left and right but she still wanted to compete, so we let her. She won Pretty In Pink wear and placed 1st runner up in Beauty.
Needless to say, we are soooo incredibly proud of her. She has accomplished so much for being 5 years old. A lot of people bash beauty pageants and say ugly things, but I know for my 5 year old, pageants have build a determination & drive that she wouldn't have otherwise.

Chloe's upcoming pageants possibly include the Support A Veteran pageant and Little Miss Hilton Head, both in November. The Support A Veteran pageant is being held by a dear little girl, Erin, who has a HUGE heart. All of the proceeds go to Victory House which is a nursing home for Veterans. Chloe is collecting donations for "Soldier Sweetheart", with all proceeds going to Victory House. If you would like to help Chloe, please email me at love.my.sailor.070106@gmail.com.
